Nasher Sculpture Center

The Nasher Sculpture Center has been open since 2003. It’s home to one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary sculptures in the world. The Center also features rotating exhibitions drawn from the Nasher Collection. In terms of layout, the ground level houses three galleries, a boardroom, a gift shop, and institute offices. The upper level houses a garden that terraces downward to the auditorium, creating an outdoor theatre that hosts concerts from local and national musicians.

Winspear Opera House

The Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District is nationally recognized as one of America’s finest opera houses. Built specifically for opera, musical, and ballet performances, it is in the shape of a traditional “horseshoe” opera house and can accommodate up to 2,200 people.

The Crow Museum of Asian Art in the Dallas Arts District features exhibitions that promote learning and dialogue around Asian art from both ancient and contemporary eras. Through a variety of permanent and rotating exhibitions, groups can truly experience all that Asia has to offer, right in the heart of Dallas. Plus, this museum is free to the public!

 

Akai

What do you think of when you hear the term “speakeasy”? Do your ears immediately perk up? If that’s the case, then you’ll want to take your group to Akai in the Dallas Arts District. This new, secret bar opened in early 2019, and it can be accessed through the front of Musume, a local restaurant.

Once you walk through the restaurant, take a left and walk through the kitchen and past the storage area. When you see the white cinderblock wall, hang a right and then take a final left into a red tomb. This is the front of Akai.

The cocktail menu is filled with fun and refreshing drinks with an Asian twist, including a green-tea-infused whisky drink and a cucumber sake.
